Hello

It is incredibly important to find a therapist that is the right fit for you. If you think we might be a good fit reach out!

Alison Westerink, LMHC

Have you experienced a significant loss in your life? I may be the counselor for you. I am Alison Westerink, an LMHC and certified thanatologist through the Association for Death Education and Counseling with a specialization in grief-informed therapy and end of life care.

Although my work primarily focuses on human death, I understand the importance of processing other grief events such as:

A career change

 Aging

Divorce or relationship changes

The loss of a home or financial security

Processing spiritual and religious losses, including loss of community, relationships, identity and belonging

I also welcome those expericing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and chronic illness.

My professional experience has included middle school counseling, childhood grief and trauma, including experiences of sexual and physical abuse, substance use disorder treatment, and oncology counseling. Working across these settings has deepened my understanding of how profoundly trauma, illness, grief, and loss can affect our sense of self, our relationships, and the way we move through the world.

I strive to offer a warm, compassionate, and informed space where you can process what has happened, better understand where you are now, and begin finding a way forward that feels meaningful to you. I utilize DBT, CBT, and meaning-centered therapy, and stay as up to date as possible with best practices through continuing education. I currently serve ages 5+.
