Sofia Ivanova, MHC
In my practice, I emphasize a holistic body-mind oriented and person-centered approach. I help clients recognize their primary and secondary emotions and how those emotions influence their decision-making and behaviors. In our sessions, facilitation of deep emotional experience restores secure attachment and enables the client's capacity for connection with self and others, and personal growth. I use a combination of evidence-based therapeutic treatments that include emotionally-focused and cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and experiential somatic approaches.
I have extensive training in providing counseling to college and graduate students, and in couples therapy. I help clients address stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, and work on personal growth, coping skills, communication skills, conflict resolution, relationships, and higher education and careers. I'm currently accepting new clients, age 18+, for individual and couples counseling.
